Ventilation Training
In conjunction with 30th Annual Carthage Swine Conference, Carthage Veterinary Service will still be offering an in-person Ventilation Workshop on the day prior to the conference, Monday, August 31, 2020. This event will be limited to 40 attendees. This workshop will focus on both breed-to-wean and wean-to-market ventilation and will be tailored to producers and employees at the on farm level.
The workshop will explore ventilation design, components, and principles (controllers, inlets, fans, and cooling, emergency systems) and their interaction with pigs. Time will be spent in the barn applying principles taught in gestation, farrowing, and wean to market barns. The workshop will explore new technologies and application – advanced controllers and positive pressure ventilation design. We will also work through cases and trouble shoot everyday problems. We have the capability to smoke a room to visualize air patterns from observation windows. You will leave this session understanding the principles of ventilation and ability to apply them immediately in your barns.
The session will run from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Carthage Learning and Development Center (309 N 2nd Street, Carthage, IL 62321). The cost for each participant is $100. Snacks and a noon lunch will be served.
