CAPE MAY COURT HOUSE, N.J. — The Cape May County 4-H Youth Development Program held the 4-H Chopped! Cooking Contest on Feb. 11. Three 4-H youth members won awards in the senior division.
Taking part in the 4-H junior division was judge Sheila Jargowski, senior division judge Ken Morey, 3rd place winner Tessa Wozunk, member of the Milky Ways and Hy-Riders 4-H Clubs; 2nd place winner Kristin Hughes, member of the Milky Ways 4-H Club; 1st place winner Matthew Lashley, member of the Kitchen Phanatics 4-H Club and Gayle Crookston, leader of the Kitchen Phanatics 4-H Club, which sponsors the event.
Special thanks to the Erma Volunteer Fire Company for the generous donation of their kitchen.
Eight junior division (4th-8th grade) contestants participated in the recent 4-H Chopped! Cooking Contest, including 2nd place winner Kathleen DeGenova, Wranglers 4-H Club; 3rd place winner Kate Pantelione, Wranglers 4-H Club; 1st place winner April Higman, All Paws In 4-H Club; Alexa Anaya, Milky Ways and Scales & Tails 4-H Clubs; Elizabeth Lubberman, Scales & Tails 4-H Club; Gianna Carfagno, Kitchen Phanatics 4-H Club; Ava Kelso, Kitchen Phanatics 4-H Club and Helen Gano, Kitchen Phanatics 4-H Club, junior division judge Sheila Jargowski, Kitchen Phanatics Club leader Gayle Crookston and junior division judge Mark Gose.
