MARSHALLTOWN, Iowa — Cattle producers are invited to attend a calving clinic March 12 at the Iowa State University Extension and Outreach Marshall County office. This educational program will offer valuable information about calving, health and nutrition, according to ISU Extension and Outreach beef specialist Chris Clark.
“We will spend some time talking about the calving process and successfully managing that process,” he said. “We will also talk about some basic nutrition and health management as they relate to health and vigor of the newborn calf. Spring calving season is underway or right around the corner for most producers. This program should provide some timely information that producers can start using right away.”
The clinic will be held from 5:30-8:30 p.m. at 2608 S. 2nd St., Suite E, Marshalltown. An evening meal, sponsored by Farm Credit Services of America, will begin at 5:30 p.m. and the educational program, sponsored by ISU Extension and Outreach Marshall County, will begin at 6 p.m.
Thanks to support from Farm Credit Services of America and the ISU Extension and Outreach Marshall County office, the meal and educational program are both free.
Pre-register by March 10 by calling the county extension office at 641-752-1551.
