BURLINGTON, Vt. — Researchers, educators, agricultural service providers, tourism professionals and others involved in agritourism are invited to submit proposals for presentations at the 2022 International Workshop on Agritourism. The deadline to submit is Nov. 30.
Proposals are being accepted for 20-minute oral presentations, 60-minute interactive workshops, a poster session and an oral presentation and poster presentation on the same topic. Individuals have the option of presenting in person or remotely and may submit more than one proposal.
Presentations may focus on any number of agritourism topics including marketing and promotion strategies; best practices; agritourism research; legislation; the challenges, opportunities and limitations of operating an agritourism enterprise and indigenous perspectives, among other topics. All proposals will be peer-reviewed. Successful applicants will be notified of acceptance by Jan. 20.
The International Workshop on Agritourism, postponed from October 2020 due to COVID-19, is planned for Aug. 30-Sept. 1, 2022, at the Hilton Burlington Lake Champlain Hotel in downtown Burlington. It will provide a forum for participants from around the world to share current developments in agritourism research, outreach and best practices, as well as showcase agritourism destinations in Vermont and neighboring states and provinces.
The conference is co-sponsored by University of Vermont Extension and Eurac Research, a private research center headquartered in northern Italy. Members of the Vermont Farm to Plate Network’s Agritourism Task Force and other state and local agricultural groups will assist with conference planning and logistics.
