VIRGINIA STATE UNIVERSITY, Va. — The Mid-Atlantic Urban Agriculture Summit launched five years ago and was formerly known as the Virginia Ag Summit. New in 2021, organizers at Virginia Cooperative Extension have extended it to the entire Mid-Atlantic region to facilitate the sharing of even more knowledge and experiences.
This year’s theme is Creating Healthy Communities Through Urban Agriculture. Urban farmers, gardeners, policymakers, government officials, foodies and others are invited to submit an abstract by July 15, 2021 that address urban agriculture related to the three sub-themes: 1) Urban Agriculture and Food Security; 2) Innovations in Urban Agriculture: Business, Technology and Policy; 3) Urban Community Gardening.
