ORDWAY, Colo. — Luke and his family (wife Kate and boys Ledger (6) , Kellan (3)) live in Southeastern Colorado on the family cow-calf/stocker operation between Walsenburg and Fowler. Luke is partner/CEO of Ordway Feedyard which is a 70,000 head capacity cattle feeding operation just outside of Ordway, CO. A life-long (or at least the life post Colorado State University) dream of Lukes’ has been to start a branded beef program. The Colorado Ag Leadership Program provided many lessons and inspiration to finally get the ball rolling on Centennial Cuts. Centennial Cuts is an all Colorado- born, raised and harvested product – featuring premium steaks as well as handcrafted summer sausage, beef sticks and jerky. You can find Centennial Cuts at Denver International Airport (kiosk is on B concourse near gate B26), as well as farmers markets in the Denver and Colorado Springs areas. If you’re in Breckenridge – stop at the Breckenridge distillery restaurant and order up the Centennial Cuts tomahawk ribeye (bring plenty of friends to share – its not a small steak)! CALP also provided Luke with outstanding leadership training and perspective which he currently utilizes on the board of Colorado Livestock Association which he has served on for several years.
