BROOME CO., N.Y. — Cornell Cooperative Extension of Broome County is pleased to extend an invitation to veterans residing in Broome County to participate in a series of valuable events this October.
Windsor Farmers Market Coupon Distribution
Date: Saturday, October 14th Time: 9:00 am – 1:00 pm
Location: Windsor Farmers Market
Veterans are invited to visit the Windsor Farmers Market on Saturday, October 14th, from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm, where they will receive $15 in coupons to be used for purchasing produce, protein, dairy, and more from various vendors. No purchase is required, but proof of veteran status is requested. The Veteran is asked to be in attendance. Veterans are invited to stop by the branded Broome County Veterans information booth for additional information.
Garden Crafts Workshop with Horticulturalist Linda Svoboda

On October 11th, starting at 5:30 pm, Broome County veterans and their spouses or family members are invited to join Horticulturalist Linda Svoboda for a creative workshop. Learn how to transform troublesome grapevines from your garden into beautiful fall crafts, which you can take home with you.
Canning with Ann: Preserving Meats
Date: Tuesday, October 18th Time: 5:30 pm
Location: Broome County Regional Farmers Market
On October 18th, beginning at 5:30 pm, Broome County veterans are encouraged to participate in this month’s “Canning with Ann: Preserving Meats” class. Held at the Broome County Regional Farmers Market, this session will provide valuable insights into preserving meats using correct methods, whether you’re a hunter or just looking to take advantage of grocery store sales. Participants will leave with the items they create during the class, as well as recipes for crafting jerky.
These events and the distribution of coupons are made possible through the generous support of the Broome County Division of Veterans Services. All events are free for Broome County veterans, who are welcome to bring spouses and/or family members.
