LE MARS, Iowa — Amidst all the change, one thing continues. Major packers still require a current Beef Quality Assurance certificate from feedlot producers planning to sell market-ready cattle to them. The good news is that there is one workshop remaining to get certified before harvest! Iowa State University Extension and Outreach and the Iowa Beef Industry Council will offer a face-to-face workshop on August 26 in the lower level of the Convention Center in Le Mars. The workshop, which is 10 a.m. to noon, features carcass trends and updates on nine best management practices. Registration is due August 24 and will be taken as received until room capacity is reached. Walk-ins are NOT allowed. Please register with the Plymouth County Extension and Outreach Office by calling 712-546-7835. Social distancing and face masks are encouraged to protect everyone’s health.
