WESTMORELAND, N.Y. — The New York Beef Industry Council has partnered with Cornell University Beef Extension Specialist Dr. Mike Baker and Empire Farm Days to offer a 3-hour Beef Quality Assurance Training on Thursday, August 10th in Seneca Falls, NY. Empire Farm Days, the largest outdoor agricultural trade show in the Northeastern U.S., is held at Rodman Lott and Son Farms.
The 3-hour Beef Quality Assurance training opportunity includes classroom and chute-side training with Cornell University Beef Extension Specialist Dr. Mike Baker and Dr. Dave Wilson, DVM.
The program will begin at 10:30AM in the Welcome Center Seminar Area, Lot #504. The 10:30am-1:30pm program will include beef sandwiches for participants between the lecture and chute-side training. To receive certification, BQA program participants will need to demonstrate their ability to give a subcutaneous injection during the Chute-side Training which will be held at the Cattle Handling Area, Lot #302.
“This training opportunity at Empire Farm Days is a great way to expand on the cattle handling education demonstrations and will provide added value to the beef producers attending the show,” says New York Beef Council Director of Industry Relation, Katherine Brosnan.
To register for the special training opportunity, contact Katherine at 315-339-6922, kbrosnan@nybeef.org.
Cattle handling demonstrations and hands on workshops will take place each day of the August 8-10 Empire Farm Days.
