RIVER FALLS, Wis. — Brenda Boetel, professor of agricultural economics at UW-River Falls and UW-Extension livestock and grain marketing specialist, was honored with the Second Mile Award from the Wisconsin Association of County Agricultural Agents (WACAA) at their annual banquet on April 25. The award is presented annually to a state extension specialist who has put forth exceptional effort to support county agricultural agents in carrying out their educational programs.
Boetel joined the faculty in 2002. In her role as UW-Extension specialist she provides livestock and grain market updates while also working with grain and livestock producers throughout Wisconsin to improve their marketing strategies. She is currently chair of the Agricultural Economics Department and director of the CHS Center for Agricultural Business and Management (CABME) at UW-River Falls.
