GALT, Calif. — Today, the California FFA Foundation announced an exciting new partnership with Blue Diamond Growers, the world’s leading almond brand. On Giving Tuesday, Blue Diamond Growers will match every FFA jacket donation up to 200 jackets, significantly aiding the California FFA Foundation in reaching their 400 jacket goal.
“Blue Diamond Growers is excited to partner with the California FFA Foundation to help provide FFA members with jackets,” said Dan Cummings, Chairman of the Board for Blue Diamond Growers. “Ensuring the future of agriculture in California is more important than ever and this partnership helps build the next generation of leaders in our agriculture industry.”
On Tuesday, November 28, the California FFA Foundation will celebrate Giving Tuesday, a global day of giving, fueled by the power of social media and collaboration. This is the second year the California FFA has participated in Giving Tuesday with a focus on providing jackets for FFA members. For every $75 donation on Giving Tuesday, the California FFA Foundation will provide a member with their very own FFA jacket, and a tie or scarf. This year Blue Diamond Growers will generously match that donation.
“The blue corduroy jacket is the most recognized symbol for students involved in agriculture education and FFA. This partnership will provide less fortunate FFA members the opportunity to share this emblem of success,” said Dennis Albiani, California FFA Foundation Chair. “When we were considering partners to join us in giving the gift of blue, there was simply no better choice, than Blue Diamond Growers. Blue Diamond Growers is a well-known and respected industry giant, fueled with growers and leaders, many of which once had the opportunity to wear their own FFA jacket.”
This partnership represents Blue Diamond Grower’s ongoing commitment to FFA and agriculture education, having served as a longtime sponsor of proficiency’s and other awards. Blue Diamond Growers represent 100 years of agricultural history in Northern California, with over 3,000 family growers helping to produce eighty percent of the world’s almonds.
