SUTTONS BAY, Mich. — Black Star Farms, known for its exceptional wine and culinary offerings, announces the launch of its own branded food products.
What began as a successful soft launch this past holiday season in Black Star Farm’s tasting rooms, Tom’s Food Markets and Bayside Market, will be going statewide the end of this month.
“We are happy to have the partnership of Cherry Capital Foods who, along with Michigan State University Product Center, have been working with us through the development and launch stages of products that, prior to this, only our Inn guests were enjoying,” stated Michael Lahti, who has headed up the project.
The first purchase order has been received from Cherry Capital Foods. Next month, shoppers around the state will be able to find Black Star Farms Hard Apple Cider Granola, Black Star Farms Leelanau Coffee Granola, Black Star Farms Sweet Potato Cashew Crackers and Black Star Farms Lentil Sea Salt Crackers on the shelves of markets near them.
Executive Chef Cole Thornton is looking forward to the opportunity for his culinary staff to maintain year-round employment producing these popular products.
