SYRACUSE, N.Y. — BestFest NYS is the new name of the fall season festival scheduled for the New York State Fairgrounds’ new Exposition Center. The event, previously called the Taste NY Fall Festival, also has a new date: Friday and Saturday, November 2-3.
The festival itself is unchanged. It will feature many of the best foods and beverages grown and made in New York State, top quality musical entertainment, and fun special events. The brand-new event is produced by Advance Media Group with the New York State Fair. Admission is $5 and tickets will be available at the door.
Festival attendees will be able to taste some of the best beers, wines and ciders made in New York as they enjoy food from several dozen vendors. The artists of New York City’s Maniac Pumpkin Carvers will carve pumpkins live. Speed painter and speaker Tom Varano will demonstrate his high velocity artistry. There will also be a hot chicken wing eating competition on Friday and a hot dog competition on Saturday.
Two stages will pump music from top regional bands, including the Noisy Boys, the Zac Brown Tribute Band, the Mere Mortals, Danielle Ponder and the Tomorrow People, Backtrack Vocals, and Tiger Chung Lee, among others. The stages will also host cooking demonstrations.
