LANCASTER, Pa. — PA Farm Link will be hosting a “Beginning Farmer” workshop on Sept. 14 in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. If you are a new or beginning farmer or plan to begin farming in the future be sure to join us. Our workshop will cover a variety of topics to help you be successful as you begin your farming career.
Topics include: Farm Leasing & Proper Leasing Documents, Insurance Needs, Accounting & Recordkeeping Tools, Business Planning, Loan Programs as well as a discussion session with an experienced farmer panel and networking opportunities.
The workshop is being held at the Lancaster Farm & Home Center located at 1383 Arcadia Rd., Lancaster, PA 17601 from 9 a.m. until 3:30 p.m. on Sept. 14.
Registration is requested by Sept. 10 and can be done by visiting www.pafarmlink.org or by calling PA Farm Link at 717-705-2121. A registration fee of $15/person applies which includes lunch and a copy of our “Drafting Ag Leases” booklet (an $11 value).
PA Farm Link is a non-profit organization that has been dedicated to “Linking Farmers to the Future” for more than 20 years by hosting workshops such as this along with maintaining a network of trained facilitators assisting farmers in writing succession plans that allows them to smoothly transition their farm operation from one generation to the next. Our online database also features landowners looking for someone to farm their land as well as farmers looking for land available to farm.
