CANTON, N.Y. — The monthly gathering Bees & Beekeeping Discussion Group will be held on Wednesday, January 25. The monthly event is hosted by the Local Living Venture on the last Wednesday of each month at 7:00 p.m.
One topic of the evening will be the bulk order that the group coordinates for bee nucleuses and “package bees” to stock new hives and replenish old ones. Typically, the bees are ordered mid-Winter for Spring delivery.
All novice to advanced levels of beekeepers are welcome to ask questions and share in the successes and challenges of beekeeping in this casual group setting. It is free, though small donations are appreciated for workshop creation and overhead costs to coordinate the programs.
The location is the Betty Evans Community Room in the new wing of the E.J. Noble Medical Bldg. at 80 E. Main Street in Canton, NY. The entrance is on the left side, at street level, next to the E.J. Noble Hospital Guild’s butterfly and pollinators garden.
The building is next door to the Best Western and across from the Price Chopper on Rt. 11 in Canton, and will have an orange ‘Local Living Workshop Site’ lawn site near the door.
