POTSDAM, N.Y. — There will be a “Beekeeping for Bee-ginners” workshop geared to the assisting anyone interested in becoming a beekeeper held on Saturday, December 9, from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. at the Potsdam Town Hall.
Members of the Local Living Venture’s Bee Discussion Group have created a community-led workshop to share the basics to get started. For those considering keeping bees next Spring, this will be very helpful information about how to get started.
Topics to be covered include beekeeping resources, terminology, equipment and gear, biology, pests, diseases and how to start a hive this Spring.
A $22 donation level for workshop attendance is suggested for adults, with a discount to $40 for a couple, $10 for students. Partial scholarship is available upon request. Class size is limited, so attendees will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis, with pre-registered participants receiving first priority.
Drop-in’s are welcome, though reservations are appreciated. The workshop will be held at the Potsdam Town Hall Community Room, 18 Elm St., rear entrance in Potsdam, NY. Look for the orange “Workshop Site” lawn signs.
A listing of upcoming workshops and events can be found on the Workshop Schedule page at www.LocalLivingVenture.org/ful
