PIERRE, S.D. — The South Dakota Beef Industry Council (SDBIC) is proud to be a sponsor of the 2022 Deadwood Mickelson Trail Marathon on June 5, 2022 in Deadwood, South Dakota. SDBIC recognized the opportunity to showcase BEEF to thousands of consumers from across the nation.
Amongst over 1,000 runners participating in the races over the weekend you will find runners wearing the Team Beef South Dakota red jersey. Team BEEF South Dakota is a community of runners and cyclists who recognize the nutritional benefits of beef and the vital role high-quality protein plays in their training.
SDBIC Creative Services Manager and Team Beef South Dakota coordinator, Merretta Anderson says āThe Deadwood Mickelson Trail Marathon is a first-class event for our state and for the running world. Runners come from all over the nation to run one of our stateās most scenic trails and Team Beef members will have the opportunity to advocate for the beef industry, engaging with other runners as well as spectators sharing how beef helps them be the best that they can be. It is a great opportunity to share beef story with consumers.ā
The SDBIC will offer Beef Jerky as a recovery protein to runners at the finish of the marathon. Runners of all ages and skill levels can enjoy the benefits, such as zinc, iron, and essential amino acids that beef has to offer as their bodies recover from their run.
