GREENWOOD, Fla. — Join us for a Beef and Forage BMP Farm Tour on April 22nd from 9:00 am to 12 pm CDT. We will meet at the Granberry Farm from 9:00 AM Central to 10:15 AM, and then travel in your own vehicle to Bishop Farms where we will be from 10:30 AM – 12:00 PM, ending with a sponsored lunch.
Producers will share their experiences implementing Best Management Practices (BMPs) to protect water quality that often can also enhance production and profit. They will discuss beef and forage production, integrating winter grazing with row crop production, and how the BMP Cost-Share Program has enhanced their operations. This includes equipment and practices such as portable fencing, portable hay wagons, GPS guidance systems, cover crops, no-till drills, and more.
BMP and conservation specialists from state and federal agencies will be on hand to answer your questions regarding available cost-share and other technical and financial assistance.
Please help us get an accurate headcount for lunch by registering online or by calling the Jackson County Extension Office 850-482-9620 (weekdays 7:30-4:30 CT) by April 15th.
