GREENSBORO, N.C. — It’s always a good time to start your pollinator garden! Whether you want to attract butterflies, birds or other pollinators to
your yard, we can help you get started. On Saturday, August 17 from 9 am until 12 pm, join our Extension Master GardenerSM Volunteers for our Bee Friendly to Pollinators Day. At this FREE event, learn about all the different kinds of pollinators and the vital role they play in our food production.
Want to know which are the best flowers and plants to attract pollinators? Talk with the pollinator experts and learn more about the best ways you can help protect and attract pollinators. There will be butterfly, bee, and bug displays; plus take a look inside a real beehive! Talk with the Guilford County Beekeepers and learn the ins and outs of managing a hive. There will be activities for children to help them learn more about pollinators and their role in our world.
Take a tour of our demonstration pollinator gardens. The Greensboro Eco-Bus will also be on hand with live animal displays. Stop by our N.C. Extension Master GardenerSM Volunteer Ask booth and get the best advice for your own garden. The day will conclude with a Monarch butterfly release! This free event will take place at our Demonstraion Garden at the N.C. Cooperative Extension Guilford County Center, 3309 Burlington Road, Greensboro, NC 27405.
