CHOCOWINITY, N.C. — For the first time in over 50 years, Beaufort County Extension will be hosting our very own “Beaufort County 4-H Livestock Show and Sale” on April 4, 2017 at the “Raised in a Barn Farm” in Chocowinity.
This is a big step for us. For years, we partnered with Washington County Extension to host the event in Plymouth. However, with the recent growth in the number of youth participating from Beaufort County, and the fact that the barn in Plymouth would no longer hold all of us, we made the decision to host our own event again.
We thought we might have time to “ease’ into this endeavor, starting with a small event and growing over a few years. We were wrong. We have over 60 youth participating in the show and sale this year!
With the start of our own show comes many expenses. Costs include purchasing portable pens, rings, bleachers, shavings, livestock clippers/taggers/stands, livestock scales, trophies, ribbons, awards, and transportation of the animals to the market,
Beaufort County 4-H is in need of financial sponsorship for this big endeavor and we are asking for your support. Beaufort County is an agriculture community, and we believe that our biggest “crop” is our children.
Please help us support our youth through 4-H.
Any support is appreciated
If you have any questions about how you can help sponsor our show, please call Erin Massie or Louise Hinsley at 946-0111.
