MARIANNA, Fla. — If you are looking for an affordable 4-H project, a backyard production project, or are interested in increasing your sustainable resource options, consider learning more about goats. UF|IFAS Extension Jackson County is hosting a workshop July 13, from 9AM to 3PM CT, at the Jackson County UF|IFAS Extension offices (2741 Penn Avenue, Suite 3, Marianna, FL 32448).
Topics will include breed selection, facility needs, basic nutrition and health. Speakers will include FRM Show Team Angela McKenzie-Jakes, FAMU Goat Specialist and Dr. Robert Purvis, DVM, FAMU Research & Extension.
The fee for this workshop is $20. You may register at the door or online here. Lunch will be provided, and you can register to win a “Goat Emergency Kit” courtesy of Jeffers!
