WATERTOWN, N.Y. — Looking to brush up on your accounting skills? Or maybe just finally take the time to learn more about your farms finances? This program will cover all the basics of farm finance, from book keeping for tax needs to records for management. The workshop is to take place April 10th from 6:30 PM – 9:00 PM at 203 N Hamilton St, Watertown, NY 13601 (Cornell Cooperative Extension of Jefferson County office).
This program is for any size or type of agricultural operation, and any individual who is looking to get a solid knowledge base of farm finance and related topics, such as choosing record keeping software, collecting the right information to complete records, tax considerations and liability, and benchmarking.
Presenting will be Kelsey O’Shea, a Farm Business Management Specialist for the CCE North Country Regional Ag Team. Her primary focuses at extension include records for management, benchmarking, labor, and transfer and estate planning. She has also secured grant funding to aid those young, small, and beginning farmers to aid in their financial training
