HEATH, Mass. — Make plans to attend and/or enter your tractor in Franklin County Farm Bureau’s Back 40 Tractor Ride on June 24, 2017. The ride, which is held in conjunction with the Franklin County 4-H Fair, will start and end at the Heath Fairgrounds located at 5 Branch Hill Road in Heath, Massachusetts.
During the event, the public will have the opportunity to meet and talk one-on-one with Massachusetts farmers to hear about their farming experiences and learn about different types of farm tractors that have been used throughout the ages. All proceeds from this ride will go to benefit Colrain VFD, Franklin County 4-H and Franklin County Farm Bureau.
Prizes will be award to the oldest tractor, youngest driver and farthest traveled. All drivers will receive free entry into the Franklin County 4-H Fair, where lunch can be purchased from the Franklin County 4-H Food Booth.
The confirmed schedule of events, includes:
- 8 – 9 a.m. – Registration
- 9 a.m. – Drivers meeting
- 9:30 a.m. – Ride leaves fairgrounds
- 1:30 p.m. – Estimated time of return from ride
All drivers must have a valid license, rubber wheeled tractors, no passengers, tractors capable of 12 mph, working brakes, slow moving vehicle sign(s) and no trailers. Please note that all tractors are subject to inspection.
To register for the ride, please send driver’s name, address, phone number, email with tractor make-model and year to Regina Grover at grover.regina@gmail.com by June 17. Checks can be mailed to Franklin County Farm Bureau c/o Regina Grover, 250 Brattleboro Rd, Bernardston, MA 01337 with the $20 entry fee. Checks can be made payable to Franklin County Farm Bureau.
