MTN. GROVE, Mo. — Southwest Missouri Dairy Grazers will tour the Lyle and Brent Unnasch Farm near Conway starting at 2 p.m. on Friday, June 29. Dr. Ted Probert, diary specialist with University of Missouri Extension, will host the tour and meeting.
This tour is being held in conjunction with the Ayrshire Breeders Association National Convention which is being held in Missouri this year and includes this tour stop on June 29.
“One of the highlights of the event will be a presentation from faculty of West Virginia University on Ayrshires in a grazing system. Additionally you should have ample time to look at cows, grass, facilities, and more,” said Probert.
The Unnasch farm is home to 100 Ayrshire cows. Pastures consist mostly of a fescue base.
“In addition to the farm and cows, Lyle plans to have several antique cars on display during the visit. Those of you interested in old cars will not want to miss this,” said Probert.
Directions to the Unnasch Farm: Take Hwy ZZ east of Conway 2 miles. The farm is on the left side of the road. The physical address is: 13637 Highway ZZ, Conway MO 65632.
