DENVER — USDA’s Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) in Colorado is accepting applications for enrollment into the 2021 Conservation Stewardship Program (CSP). NRCS continuously accepts applications for enrollment into CSP, however all eligible applications received by Friday, January 8, 2021 will be reviewed and considered for this first round of 2021 funding. Applications received after January 8, 2021 will be considered for funding in future CSP application periods.
Through CSP, NRCS helps farmers, ranchers and forest landowners that are already stewardship-minded take their operations to a higher level of conservation and stewardship. CSP participants earn annual payments enabling them to expand and adopt new conservation activities while maintaining and strengthening their agricultural operation and its production goals. Landowners looking to improve grazing conditions, increases soil health, or develop wildlife habitat will find CSP is a financial assistance program worth consideration.
For additional information about CSP and to enroll, landowners should contact their local NRCS field office located in the USDA service center that services their County. USDA Service Centers are open for business by phone appointment only. While staff will continue to come into the office, they will be working with producers by phone and using online tools to the greatest extent possible. More information can be found at farmers.gov/coronavirus.
