ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. — The Green Thumb Festival, St. Petersburg’s annual Arbor Day celebration, is seeking adults, teenagers and families to volunteer to help with the event at Walter Fuller Park, 7891 26th Ave. N., on Saturday, April 28, and Sunday, April 29, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The event is free to the public.
With more than 30,000 visitors expected, help is needed in a variety of areas. Volunteers assist with selling small trees, distributing plants at the plant auction, staffing booths, assisting with the children’s arts and crafts area and more.
Volunteers receive a free T-shirt for their assistance following their shift. Student volunteers will also receive volunteer hours. For more information about this fun opportunity and to complete the volunteer application, visit stpeteparksrec.org/greenthumb/volunteers.html.
