FORT ATKINSON, Wis. — Our next monthly webinar will take place on Monday, October 11 at noon (Central time). Nigel Cook, MRCVS, University of Wisconsin-Madison School of Veterinary Medicine, will present “An update on cooling and ventilation for dairy cattle.”
This webinar will provide an update on our latest research exploring the impact of air speed on cow behavior and performance and will introduce an approach to ventilation assessments using air speed mapping. The discussion will summarize the main ventilation trends in the dairy industry and explore the pros and cons of each design. Dairy barns vary in size and shape, and we need to employ a range of ventilation system solutions to meet the needs of the cow while minimizing the cost to the producer. Listeners will be provided a decision support map to help them optimize the approach needed for their specific circumstance. The webinar is sponsored by Tunnel Plus.
