LANCASTER, Pa. — The Lancaster County Graziers Group is excited to announce a once in a lifetime opportunity to hear Allan Savory tell his life story. The all-day presentation and discussion will be held on Sept. 19 at the Martindale Reception Center, 352 Martindale Rd. Ephrata, PA 17522. Registration begins at 6 a.m. and the event runs from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Registration fee is $75. See below for registration instructions.
Savory, from Victory Falls, Zimbabwe, wildlife biologist and former farmer, is a renowned author and co-founder of the Savory Institute, which is a driving force in the Holistic Management approach to landscape management and diversification. The Savory Institute has helped countless farmers and ranchers around the world come to an understanding of how their management impacts the healing or destruction of the land on which we live and all creatures of the earth with whom we live.
The Lancaster Graziers Group has asked Savory to come to Lancaster to share about himself, his inspirations, his successes, his failures and ultimately how he came to create his holistic approach to land management. This event is a great opportunity to learn and discuss concepts taken from practical experience with a globally-recognized lecturer. Also speaking will be Chris Kerston, who has worked for the institute and is a facilitator for Savory. Kerston will be speaking about how holistic resource management works and why, making it clear what the Savory Institute is and does, and how they endeavor to make farms and ranches successful.
