MADISON, Wis. — AgSource Cooperative Services is excited to announce their acquisition of Dairyland Laboratories, Inc. Agronomy Services Division in Stratford, Wisconsin.

“We look forward to enhancing our network while maintaining the same quality service you’ve come to trust from Dairyland,” says Dave Smercina, vice president of laboratory operations for AgSource. “We expect minimal changes in how customers interact with the Stratford laboratory. Our goal is to continue as the long-standing provider of agricultural laboratory analyses and consulting services throughout the Midwest and beyond.”

Effective March 23, all soil, plant tissue and manure analyses, as well as nutrient management services, will be provided by AgSource.

Another change for the AgSource brand was recently announced by URUS, the parent company of the AgSource and VAS brands. Effective March 1, both companies will operate as independent brands under the URUS umbrella.

While many services overlap, we’ve recognized opportunities that require a clear identity for the lab and testing facilities. VAS and AgSource will continue building on those for clients globally.

“Founded on cooperative principles, AgSource’s commitment to the agricultural community is unwavering,” says Smercina. “We look forward to providing exceptional service and value through cutting-edge laboratory analysis and high-value consultative services, as we have for the past 60 years.”

“In a world of evolving technology and data analysis, we wanted to provide clarity for the AgSource and VAS brands,” says Kevin Muxlow, chief operating officer for URUS. “This allows us to focus on the services that make each brand superior in the market, allowing our teams’ pride, passion and value to shine for our members and customers.”

AgSource is a broad-based agricultural service cooperative specializing in laboratory testing and value-added dairy management information. AgSource has become a leader in agricultural and environmental laboratory analysis and information management services and is one of the only full-service DHI providers in the country. In cooperation with our partners, AgSource strives to increase research and development of improved management decision tools, working together for the overall benefit of our members and customers and the agriculture industry.
