LITCHFIELD, Ill. — University of Illinois Extension hosted the 2017 West Central Illinois Agronomy Day on Tuesday, February 14 at Lincoln Land Community College in Litchfield. The conference featured six researchers who discussed the latest developments in crop sciences, as well as challenges facing farmers in 2017. Herbicide resistance, crop rotation management to prevent disease, and the uncertainties of the commodity markets were major topics of discussion at this year’s event.

Almost seventy area producers and professionals attended the event, including Illinois State Representative, Avery Bourne. The conference and lunch was provided at no cost and CCA CEU credits were available.
West Central Illinois Agronomy Day is hosted by University of Illinois Extension Unit 18 and coordinated by Gary Letterly, Extension Educator, Energy and Environmental Stewardship.
