MANCHESTER, Iowa — Agronomy in the Field is a multi-session and hands-on workshop being offered to women landowners, farmers, conservationists, and other women who are interested in learning more about agronomy. This series of workshops will be held during the 2021 growing season.
The goals of the Agronomy in the Field series are to strengthen agronomic skills for women that allow for better decision-making, provide a better understanding of inputs for crop production, see and understand different conservation practices and increase confidence in communication with spouse, farming partner, ag retailer or tenant.
Sessions are designed to be hands-on and conducted in the field to see real-time conditions. Agronomy in the Field sessions will be offered May 25, June 15, July 13, August 10, and September 14 from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. Locations will vary from session to session but will be held in fields in or close to Jones County. An email will be sent to those that register prior to each session with specific location information.
There is a $40 registration fee, which includes all materials and resources. To register or to learn more about Agronomy in the Field, contact Rebecca Vittetoe, ISU Extension Field Agronomist at firstname.lastname@example.org or 712-540-3319 or the Jones County Extension Office at email@example.com or 319-465-3224.
