ST. PAUL — The Minnesota Farm Bureau (MFB) Foundation in partnership with the Minnesota Soybean Research and Promotion Council and Minnesota State Patrol Commercial Vehicle Inspectors has reprinted the Agriculture Transportation Handbook with state and federal statutes, rules and exemptions for transporting agricultural goods on highways. This is a valuable resource for farmers this harvest season.
“The Agriculture Transportation Handbook is a valuable resource for Minnesota’s farmers and ranchers,” said Minnesota Farm Bureau President Kevin Paap. “Understanding state and federal transportation laws and regulations help to ensure safe transportation of agricultural goods.”
Copies of the handbook are available free of charge through the MFB Foundation. For your copy of this transportation handbook, contact Rachael Peterson at 651-768-2151 or info@fbmn.org. For an online version go to www.fbmn.org, and under Programs click on “Ag Transportation Handbook.”
The MFB Foundation’s mission is to provide opportunities for supporters of agriculture to invest in people and programs focused on supporting active farmers and agriculturalists, better connecting agriculture to consumers and serving rural communities. Examples of some of the programs currently funded include the Speak for Yourself program, youth and leadership programs, agriculture promotion grants and academic scholarships.
