TROY, Mich. (AgPR) — AGDAILY, an all-digital news publication and a leader in farm and rural lifestyle coverage, today has launched a free and comprehensive guide to undergraduate agriculture education in the United States. Nothing like this is currently available to the tens of thousands of students who enter colleges and universities seeking to get a degree in one of the diverse array of agricultural programs offered.
“Through regular features on FFA and 4-H members and a focus on young and beginning farmers and ranchers, AGDAILY has long worked hard to make agriculture news and insights accessible to the next generation of agriculture,” said Ryan Tipps, managing editor of AGDAILY. “Our college guide, which is free for both students and the schools listed, represents the next step in our efforts to help young people find the right agricultural path for them.”
Information for AGDAILY’s agricultural college guide came directly from the schools themselves, including first-hand communications with agricultural and admissions departments on campus. The main landing page for the college guide has options to filter schools by academic program and geography — all while keeping the focus squarely on the pursuit of farming and ranching endeavors. Dozens of schools, located across the country, are included, and an emphasis has been placed on schools that are part of the American land-grant system.
Individual school pages include information on admission requirements, tuition and fees, school populations, faculty/student ratios, religious affiliations, and campus farms and research centers. Each page is optimized for mobile devices and are easy to navigate.
“This project is one of the biggest endeavors — from both a content and development perspective — that we have ever undertaken here at AGDAILY,” Tipps said. “But the audience response to our publication over the past three years has proven that efforts like these are vital to the understanding and sustainability of our industry.”
