YORK, Pa. — AgChoice Farm Credit, Pennsylvania’s largest agricultural lender, held a ribbon cutting ceremony at its new York office building at 1434 Seven Valleys Road on Jan. 10. Staff from the old York office on West Market Street began working in the new building and welcoming visitors in early December.
During the ceremony, AgChoice executive loan officer Bruce Miller presented the history of Farm Credit in the York region. He first visited the York office in 1978. “We’ve been in the area for about 50 years,” Miller said, “and as a financial cooperative, it continues to be all about partnering with and serving our customer-owners.”
The new facility, built by Weidner Construction Services, includes a training room ideal for AgChoice customer-owner or agricultural industry stakeholder events. “We wanted to create a space for hosting more educational events for local young, beginning and small farmers,” said Tim Mussmon, AgChoice branch sales manager. “They are our future and will carry the Farm Credit System forward to the next 100 years of serving agriculture and rural communities.”
The York office is part of a multi-year facilities modernization project. Initiated in 2013, the project includes upgrading, expanding or replacing AgChoice branch offices across the Commonwealth to accommodate the Association’s commitment to both business growth and customer-owner education.
“We have a fantastic group of employees at our York office,” said Darrell Curtis, AgChoice president and CEO. “Most grew up on farms or around farms, so they understand our customers and their businesses.”
AgChoice Farm Credit’s York branch office services more than $158.7 million in total loan volume for agricultural, forest products and rural customers in York and Adams counties in Pennsylvania. To learn more about AgChoice Farm Credit and its financial programs, visit www.agchoice.com.
