BOONE, Iowa — Producers interested in 2020 weather outlook and writing new crop marketing plans should plan to attend one of three upcoming Central Iowa Ag Marketing Club meetings in mid-March. The meetings sites are in Lynnville, Conrad and Ogden and are open to the public. There may be a small fee payable at the door.
Participants will learn about 2020 weather models and the potential weather impact on crop production. Given this information, written new crop marketing plans will be developed for an example farm that pre-harvest markets new crop bushels above the crop insurance projected prices and generates adequate fall and winter cash flow needs.
Iowa State University Extension and Outreach is hosting these meetings in mid-March – all beginning at 6:30 p.m. and doors opening at 6 p.m.
Tuesday, March 10 – Lynnville, First State Bank, 413 East St.
Wednesday, March 11 – Conrad, American Legion Building, 102 E. Center St.
Thursday, March 12 – Ogden Community Center, 114 SW 8th St.
The featured speakers will be Steve Johnson, ISU Extension Farm Management Specialist and Dennis Todey, director of the USDA ARS Midwest Climate Hub.
