EAST LANSING, Mich. — Michigan State University Extension, in partnership with the Natural Resource Conservation Service and the Missaukee, Osceola and Wexford County Conservation Districts, is pleased to announce the second annual Highland Ag and Natural Resources Conference on March 11, 2017, at Baker College in Cadillac, Michigan. Registration and the trade show will open at 8:30 a.m. and classes will run from 9:30-3:00 p.m.
This is a valuable opportunity for current and next generation farmers or land owners to learn about what’s next for Michigan agriculture and land management. The event includes a variety of one-hour, concurrent educational sessions with topics including sheep and goats, drones, wildlife management, farm finances, chestnuts, weed control and much more. Pesticide recertification and MAEAP Phase 1 credits will be available.
The conference will offer sessions for students interested in careers in agriculture or natural resources. Agriculture and natural resources-related vendors and agencies will also be on-hand. Registration is $10 for students, $15 for preregistered adults and $20 at the door. Lunch is included.
