African Violet Workshop at Blocker’s Coffeehouse

One of the most common house plants is the African Violet. These plants are readily available with a variety of different leaf and flower colors and patterns. Join our Penn State Extension Master Gardeners for African Violets to learn about these fascinating plants over a cup of coffee or tea at Blocker's Coffeehouse. (photo provided)

LEHIGH VALLEY, Pa. — One of the most common house plants is the African Violet. These plants are readily available with a variety of different leaf and flower colors and patterns. Join our Penn State Extension Master Gardeners for African Violets to learn about these fascinating plants over a cup of coffee or tea at Blocker’s Coffeehouse.

The African Violet workshop is Saturday, April 23, 2022, 10:00am – 12pm at Blocker’s Coffeehouse, 309 Front Street, Catasauqua, PA 18032. The cost is $15, and preregistration is required. No walk-ins accepted.

Each participant will be given a Penn State Extension, Master Gardener ‘pot’ mug to fill at their own discretion. Registration includes a pot, soil, and an African Violet to take home.  Refreshments are not included with registration.

Master Gardener volunteers support Penn State Extension’s educational programs in consumer horticulture. They develop their horticultural expertise through participation in educational training classes conducted by Penn State University faculty and Extension staff.

The Penn State Master Gardener volunteer program supports the outreach mission of Penn State Extension by utilizing unbiased research-based information to educate the public and our communities on best practices in sustainable horticulture and environmental stewardship.
