WINONA, Minn. — Are you looking for creative ways to add value to your dairy? UMN Extension will hold a workshop for dairy farms that will provide ideas and tips on value added options. The workshop will be held December 5th from 11:00 am to 2:30 pm at the St. Charles City Hall, 830 Whitewater Ave.
Jennifer Wagner-Lahr of Ag Utilization Research Institute (AURI) will share results of value added dairy research and direct to consumer projects AURI has carried out. Brad Heins, UMN Extension, will discuss the unique milk quality characteristics of grass-fed and organic dairy management systems and marketing opportunities. Finally, CannonBelles Cheese of Cannon Falls will share how they started and developed into a successful company.
Doors will open at 10:30 am and the program starts at 11:00. Lunch will be provided and is sponsored by the Winona County Farm Bureau. Fee for the program is $10 and can be paid the day of the event with cash or check.
