GREENWICH, N.Y. — Last Monday we gave her a trial run and she seems to have stuck with us!
Here’s a warm welcome to our 25th edition, 32nd state….South Carolina, the Palmetto State.
The Palmetto tree symbolizes a victory in a battle against the British during the Revolutionary War. The fort was made out of Palmetto logs.
South Carolina has 2 state mottos. The most popular, “Dum Spiro Spero,” which is Latin for “While I Breathe, I Hope.” The second, “Animis Opibusque Parati,” which is Latin for “Prepared in Mind and Resources” .
The Palmetto state’s #1 agricultural product is meat birds (chicken) in which they rank 9th in the nation, and coming in second is Turkeys, in which they rank 6th in the nation.
And the rest of the line up goes like this…
3. Greenshouse/nursery
4. Cotton
5. Corn
6. Cattle/beef and dairy
7. Soybeans
8. Peanuts
9. Chicken eggs
10. Wheat
Team Morning Ag Clips is very excited to have South Carolina on board. Feel free to subscribe to our new state editions or others through the Morning Ag Clips website, http://agclipsref.wpengine.com/
