The yield per colony averaged 32.0 pounds, compared with 29.0 pounds per colony in 2022. Idaho’s value of honey production, at $4.80 million, was 36 percent lower than 2022.
Oregon’s 2023 honey production, at 3.33 million pounds, was 2 percent lower than 2022. There were 90,000 honey-producing colonies, 2,000 lower than the previous year. The yield per colony averaged 37.0 pounds, unchanged from the previous year. Oregon’s value of honey production, at $9.02 million, was 19 percent lower than 2022.
Washington’s 2023 honey production, at 2.24 million pounds, was 19 percent lower than 2022. There were 83,000 honey-producing colonies, 3,000 lower than the previous year. The yield per colony averaged 27.0 pounds, compared with 32.0 pounds per colony in 2022. Washington’s value of honey production, at $6.07 million, was 31 percent lower than 2022.
