SCHOHARIE CO., N.Y. — Schoharie and Otsego County farmers welcome visitors to their farms for the 5th Annual Family Farm Day (FFD), Saturday, August 12, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Meet local farmers, sample farm-fresh products, and enjoy farm demonstrations, activities, and tours, all for free! Be sure to bring coolers or insulated shopping bags to take home delicious, local, farm-fresh products purchased throughout the day.
“We look forward to another great day with some new farm participants to explore and a chance for visitors to win an insulated tote bag,” said David Cox, event coordinator. “We just want folks to experience the excellent products that our region’s farms have to offer.”
To facilitate your tour, look for copies of the printed Farm Guide at participating farms, farmers’ markets, restaurants, convenience stores, and visitor centers in Schoharie, Otsego, and surrounding counties. Download a PDF version of the Farm Guide at www.FamilyFarmDay.org, or download the Farm Guide on your smart phone and plan your tour. The Farm Guide will help you discover the diversity of farm products at 35 participating farms in both counties, all of which are prepared to assure that you have a spectacular day.
