LAMBERTON, Minn. — For Fifty-Two years, the Cottonwood Cattle Producers have hosted one of the beef highlights of Southern Minnesota – the Beef Royale. The Beef Royale will be on Tuesday, June 12, 2018 with the beef market steer and market heifer registration from 9:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Ed Yonker II, Cottonwood Cattle Producer President, would like to invite all cattle producers to participate in this event and to complete for cash prizes. The Beef Royale will be held at the Lamberton Stockyards in Lamberton, Minnesota.
This is a non-halter pen show for market animals. There is no limit to the number of beef animal entries per farm. Final selection of the market cattle will be done that evening. The market steer and heifer carcasses will be evaluated at Tyson Foods. Cash prizes will be awarded to the top three carcasses, live animals and pens of three.
Cottonwood Cattle Producers invite the public to join us for a steak supper from 5:30 p.m. – 6:30 p.m. Tickets for non-members for the steak supper are $10 and can be purchased at the door. Memberships will also be available. Prior to the evening show, there is educational activities. The public will have the opportunity to participate in a spectator contest at 6:30 p.m. The contest, which has youth and adult divisions, has spectators evaluate five animals on their carcass quality. At 3:30 p.m., we invite all local judging teams to come for an opportunity to practice judging market beef animals.
