ONONDAGA CO., N.Y. — The New York Tree Recovery Campaign, a partnership between the city of the Syracuse, the Arbor Day Foundation, Cornell Cooperative Extension of Onondaga County, FedEx and the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation, will distribute 500 trees to Onondaga County residents, which will help replace ash trees damaged in the area by emerald ash borer.
Several varieties of trees will be available and residents will be allowed to take one tree per person. They will be given out on a first-come, first-served basis from 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM on April 22, 2017 at the Beaver Lake Nature Center’s Earth Day Celebration Event. 8477 East Mud Lake Rd, Baldwinsville, NY 13027

The Arbor Day Foundation is a nonprofit conservation and education organization dedicated to inspiring people to plant, nurture and celebrate trees. Its national program, Community Tree Recovery, replaces trees in communities affected by natural disasters throughout the U.S. The program planted or distributed more than 3.8 million trees since 2012.
