SARATOGA CO., N.Y. — Twelve Saratoga County 4-H members have been busy practicing for their upcoming County and Regional Horse Bowl Contests. The youth, who are ages 8-18, are studying equine-related material and covering topics such as breeds, tack, nutrition, disease, and equipment to prepare them for their upcoming contest.
The 4-H members will compete in jeopardy-style contests against other local teams, with the hopes of placing high enough to move on to regional and state contests held later in the year. The members are being coached by volunteer instructors who host weekly practices. There are teams for Novice, Junior, and Senior members.
