ONEIDA CO., N.Y. — On Tuesday, March 20th, eleven youth in the Oneida County 4-H Horse Program competed at the Regional 4-H Horse Bowl Contest, along with youth from Madison and Onondaga Counties. Horse Bowl, which is a horse knowledge contest done in a quiz bowl format allows the youth to test their horse knowledge in a fun and exciting game.
The following are the Oneida County youth and Horse Bowl placings:
Senior Division:
Anne Born (Westernville)— 1st (Qualified for NYS Contest)
Sophie Norton (Utica)— 2nd (Qualified for NYS Contest)
Alyssa Buck (Rome)— 4th (Qualified for NYS Contest)
Selby Young (Boonville)— 6th place
Brianna Yetman (Forestport)— 7th place
Junior Division:
Robin Litts (Lee Center)— 1st place (Qualified for NYS Contest)
Lanelle Vile (Port Leyden)— 3rd place (Qualified for NYS Contest)
Julia Waterhouse (Boonville)— 4th place (Qualified for NYS Contest)
Skylar Erickson (Waterville)— 5th place (Qualified for NYS Contest)
Jacob Buck (Rome)— 8th place
Novice Division: Gage Erickson (Waterville) participated in non-competitive practice Horse Bowl Rounds with other novice youth from Madison County 4-H.
