FLORENCE, S.C.–As a reminder, the new Greater Pee Dee State Fair will be held in Florence at the Florence Center (formally the civic center) during September 6-16. Outside of the SC and NC State Fair, this fair will have the largest midway in the region and live entertainment each night with both WMBF and iheart radio broadcasting live. They will not have individual 4-H youth competitions this year since it’s so new BUT they are holding a fair booth contest for ALL 4-H Clubs in the Pee Dee. They will give each club that sets up a booth $50 plus big prize money to the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners.(1st place is $300!) A flyer is attached with details and I have also highlighted details below.
PLEASE SHARE WITH YOUR CLUB LEADERS so they can began preparing! They will also have a 4-H Night on September 11 where any student wearing a 4-H t-shirt can get in FREE. If you or your club leader(s) plan to enter a booth, you will need to complete the attached vendor form and return no later than August 27. There is NO charge for 4-H and again each club will get $50 directly from the fair for participating. This is a GREAT opportunity to promote 4-H while earning possible money for your clubs.
The booths will be free standing and will not be manned. The booths will be 8’ x 10’ with a 4’ sidewall and 8’ backdrop. Both the sides and back will be pipe and drape The theme is “4-H Grows Here.” If you do not have a club in your county, I would ask that you consider setting up a county-wide booth. If you need ideas, just google “4-H fair booths”. Here are a few details:
Vendor Registration Deadline –August 27 (FREE but must be turned in)
- Booth size – 8X10
- Tentative booth Set-up: Monday, Sept. 3rd 2pm-6pm, Tuesday, Sept. 4 from 9am-6pm and/or Wednesday, Sept. 5 from 9am – 6pm
- Booths should incorporate the “4-H Grows Here” theme and it would be ideal to have your club or county name displayed
