BALLSTON SPA, N.Y. — The 26th annual Saratoga Horse Symposium was held this past weekend in Ballston Spa, NY. Dozens of horse enthusiasts attended the event which consisted of live equine demonstrations and educational seminars. Presenters consisted of local equine trainers, veterinarians, and equine liability lawyers who offered training and expertise to those in attendance.
One session focused on the newly emerging trend of using essential oils as a component of horse training while another discussed techniques for retraining the off the track thoroughbred, as more horse owners in Saratoga are finding themselves with young thoroughbreds who were trained primarily to race.
The Saratoga Horse Symposium is held annually and is part of programming efforts through CCE Equine, the equine component of Cornell Cooperative Extension. For more information on Cornell Cooperative Extension or CCE Equine, please call 518-885-8995.
