ELIZABETH CITY, N.C. — Agriculture is an integral part of the history and economy of northeast North Carolina. A way to experience that is to attend the 2023 Northeast Ag Expo Summer Field Day on Thursday, July 27 starting at 7:45am with registration, trade show and a breakfast of country link sausage wraps. Hosted by the Gates County Cooperative Extension Center and Indian Neck Farms, located at 72 Indian Neck Road, Hobbsville, NC, participants will hear presentations from North Carolina State University Extension Specialists and others pertaining to cotton, peanut, irrigation, as well as a new crop sesame. While being transported about the farm to the various stops, you will be able to enjoy the beautiful crop land that is dotted with irrigation systems.
Attendees can obtain 2 hours of “X” pesticide credits for North Carolina private (farmer) pesticide applicators and 2 hours of credits for North Carolina commercial pesticide applicators for the categories of Demonstration & Research (N), Ag Pest – Plant (O) and Dealer (D). Also, 2 hours of credits for certified crop advisor will be provided.
