2022 Penn State Spring Orchard Meetings

PSU speakers will also discuss specific seasonal concerns and answer questions

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Penn State Extension announces a resumption of in-person twilight “Spring Orchard Meetings”. These meetings begin the week of April 26th, with the full schedule provided below.

Registration is available for all the meetings at https://extension.psu.edu/spring-orchard-meetings/. To register for the meeting nearest you, click on the “Choose a selection…” drop-down menu on the righthand side of the page, under the heading “WHERE AND WHEN*”. You may also call +1 (877) 345-0691 to register by phone. Although walk-in registration is available, we encourage everyone to register online or by phone so we may know in advance how many people to expect.

In addition to a tour of the orchard or market hosting the event, the following Penn State University and Extension speakers will discuss specific seasonal concerns and answer questions posed:

Dr. Kari Peter, Associate Professor of Tree Fruit Pathology
Title: Seasonal Fungicide and Bactericide Updates for Tree Fruit Disease Management *

Dr. Greg Krawczyk, Research Professor and Extension Tree Fruit Entomologist

Dr. Jim Schupp, Professor Pomology

Dr. Long He, Assistant Professor of Agricultural and Biological Engineering

Please note that the day of the week the twilight meeting is offered in your region may have shifted from previous years. This was due to several scheduling conflicts and could not be avoided.
While these meetings are free and open to the public, and non-commercial growers or hobbyists are welcome to attend, discussions will be entirely of a professional and technical nature and may not be applicable to those without a pesticide applicator permit or those managing small numbers of trees. For additional information about specific meetings, please contact the Extension office / Extension educator listed.
