MIDDLETOWN, N.Y. — Mark your calendar and get the whole family ready to join in the fun at Cornell Cooperative Extension Orange County’s 2022 Agriculture & Family Festival! Activities for all ages will be taking place during the 3-day event held Friday, July 29th, Saturday, July 30th and Sunday, July 31st at CCE Orange County’s Education Center and 4-H Park located at 300 Finchville Turnpike in Otisville, N.Y. Admission is FREE and all are welcome!
Times for the 2022 Ag & Family Festival are as follows: Friday, July 29th from 3:00 – 8:00 P.M., Saturday, July 30th from 10:00 A.M. – 9:00 P.M., and Sunday, July 31st from 10:00 A.M. – 4:00 P.M.
“Cornell Cooperative Extension Orange County is thrilled to be able to host this event for families in Orange County and the Hudson Valley. Please join our staff, volunteers, and 4-H community for a fun-filled and educational three days!” said Lucy Joyce, Executive Director of CCE Orange County.
Activities will include visiting and learning about various animals and farm friends, viewing 4-H and Future Farmers of America (FFA) Displays & Static Exhibits, 4-H Animal Shows, Live Music, Games and Activities for youth and families, a Book Nook, Pedal Tractor Pull, Hay Maze, Educational Workshops for all ages on Gardening, Nutrition and more! Eggbert will be making a visit each day of the Festival to chat with visitors and youth while also teaching a thing or two about dairy and agriculture!
Come view and bid on the elegant, homemade arts created by local 4-Hers, 4-H alumni, and friends and family during the silent auction on Saturday between 10:00 A.M – 6:00 P.M.! All proceeds will benefit the 1923 Orange County 4-H 100th Anniversary Fundraiser!
Jeremy’s Shake Shack will be open throughout the event and serving up the classics! Chocolate, vanilla, and specialty flavors of milkshakes as well as a dairy-free strawberry banana fruit smoothie will be available for purchase. All proceeds will benefit the Education Center & 4-H Park and scholarships for Orange County 4-H Youth.
The Clover Café in addition to local Food Trucks featuring locally-sourced fresh foods will also be open for food purchase throughout the event. Gluten-free and dairy-free options will be available and efforts to remain sustainable are being made. Look out for our composting cans around the Food Truck Court to do your part after enjoying your meal or snack!
There will also be a Chicken Barbecue Fundraiser on Saturday, July 30th. You MUST purchase your meal(s) in advance no later than Thursday, July 14th for pick-up or dine-in between 5:00 – 6:00 P.M. Each meal will be $15 and include a Cornell barbecued chicken half, baked potato, roll, coleslaw, beverage, and cookie.
